LG recently announced the world’s first dual-core smartphone Optimus 2X, jam-packed with more energy. The new LG Optimus 2X is likely to bring a revolution for the mobile phones trend in 2011.
The LG Optimus 2X comes packed with features such as phone’s 4-inch WVGA display games at full HD resolution on an outer screen, 1GHz processor, Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chip and others. It would also feature traits like smoother web browsing and multitasking without screen lag.
The CEO LG Electronics Mobile, Jong-seok Park in a statement said, “Dual-core technology is the next leap forward in mobile technology so this is no small achievement to be the first to offer a smartphone utilizing this technology.” He further added, “With unique features such as HDMI mirroring and exceptional graphics performance, the LG Optimus 2X is proof of LG’s commitment to high-end smartphones in 2011.”
LG’s Optimus 2X dual core technology announcement is first of its kind in comparison to any manufacturer. The new LG mobile boasts a few other exclusive features like 8GB onboard memory. The microSD card slot allows you to expand this memory upto 32 GB. There is also a forward facing camera that allows you to make video calls easily and an 8 MP rear camera captures images fantastically. The Optimus comes outfitted with an accelerometer and gyroscope for motion-controlled gaming, similar to iPhone 4. The LG Optimus uses technologies like Android 2.2 (“Froyo”), upgradeable to 2.3 (“Gingerbread”).
The mobile is expected to launch first in Korea in January, followed by launches in the parts of Asia as well as Europe. Launch in US is still unidentified.
